Why am I trying to go to Padang and the nearby villages? Because we’re supposed to. If you’re a Christian, you have been commanded to care for orphans, widows, those in need, and love others as Christ loves you. You have been instructed to feed the hungry. You have been told to clothe the naked. These are things we should do without a second thought. End of story. WIth that said, I’m going to do everything I can. Ultimately, it’s a chance to go share love with people in need. Anybody can provide food or supplies, but when you provide for the heart, lives change. Below are just a couple of the places we see the importance of giving/loving/caring for those in need.
Regardless of what you believe, these people need help. Regardless of why you want to help, help is help, and people are still dying.
The search for survivors in Padang has ended and now rescuers are focusing on the surrounding villages.
